Artwork & Content Policy

We print almost anything you create, but we review every order and won’t print content that infringes someone else’s rights or is meant to harm. If we can’t print your order, we’ll tell you why and refund it in full.

Use artwork you have the rights to

You must own the artwork or have permission to print it. Common examples we need written permission for:

  • Logos, names and mascots of companies, brands and products
  • Sports leagues, college and pro team logos, and official event marks
  • Characters, artwork and quotes from movies, TV, games, books and music
  • Photos of people you don’t have permission to use, including celebrities
  • Art or photos found online that someone else created

Your own business logo, your school or club’s logo with permission, family photos you took, and original text are all fine. Phrases and simple designs that aren’t trademarked are usually fine too.

What we won’t print

  • Hate speech or symbols that target people based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation or similar characteristics
  • Threats, harassment or content meant to bully a specific person
  • Sexually explicit content, and any sexual content involving minors
  • Content that promotes violence, terrorism or self-harm
  • Content that promotes illegal activity or is designed to deceive, such as counterfeit uniforms or official-looking credentials

We may also decline other designs at our discretion.

Reporting infringement

If you believe a product we printed or a creator’s merch uses your intellectual property without permission, email john@inksurfstudios.com (attention: John) with your contact details, a description of your work, where the infringing product appears, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn’t authorized. We’ll review it within 5 business days, stop printing confirmed infringing designs, and notify the customer or creator involved.
